This adventure is highly recommended for a reason. I've run it twice now and it's great fun with exciting set pieces and really nice guidance regarding how to resolve situations using skills.

If you're interested in using areas of Faerun beyond the Sword Coast, it's also a great springboard for adventuring further east. I happen to have made the Anauroch Desert an important location in my home game, and it was nice to play an adventure set specifically in this under-utilised location.

This is a great T1 adventure! Had a table of more seasoned adventurers and they loved it! It's a bit shorter, and I was able to run it in almost exactly 2 hours. Good mix of RP, combat, and environmental challenges. However, you could run it for longer if you adjust it a bit to include "optional" combats, assuming your players want more of a challenge.

My players were enthusiastic when I told them I could beef up the encounters for them. The added challenge kept them on their toes, but wasn't too difficult.

Overall, this is a great adventure to run at a local game store like I did!

I ran this module at a local game store for a mis of new and experienced players and it was a ton of fun. All of the combats are great, and the one with the logs rolling down the hill is really fun. Great for new players in their first ever game, and also for more experienced players who have played the module before. It can run for about 2-3 hours depending on how long you spend in combat and RP sections.

This is an excellent and rounded adventure, involving mostly combat and exploration, with an opurtunity to introduce players to good dungeoneering, ability checks, and roleplaying including outside combat or NPC interaction. The module is structuredd to limit player resources by omiting long rests (but just enough to stave off exhaustion), make decisions about their priorities, and allows utility spells to shine. The combats are interesting, although a "Strong"or "Very Strong"group may be able to overcome them quite easily. Player choices have impact on the story (although you can choose to run an additional/the alternate combat, there are no additional rewards for th eplayers) With a 7-pplayer group wewith a junior DM (Me) managed to play this in 3 1/2 hours

Recently, I soloed my way through Adventurers League The Black Road (44 pages, for D&D Fifth Edition, PC levels 1 to 4). The RPG system that I used to play it was ACRHACK (3 pages, FREE/PAY WHAT YOU WANT at DriveThruRPG).

ACRHACK is a hack of D&D Fifth Edition. I used the Mythic Game Master Emulator as the solo engine and I did refer to the Players Handbook a few times. I started it with seven level one PCs. They picked up their quest in a large tent. They were to be guards for a caravan going through the desert. The first caravan encounter was with goblins who did surprise the PCs. Six of the seven PCs were wounded. The goblins were killed along with a wagon driver. The wizard PC was promoted to wagon driver. His wagon contained the statue which needed to get to Parnast. Next was the sandstorm which killed two drivers. The two camels pulling the wizard’s wagon freaked out and they charged off into the desert pulling the wagon with them. This wagon was then separated from the rest of the caravan. Time passed for the wizard. He got sleepy and fell asleep.

The rest of the caravan encountered a wall with a toll. The PCs made sure that Azam the NPC paid for it. Later they encountered a blood hawk that was carrying a message. The ranger wounded it, but it flew off with the message (the message was not for them). The ranger also scared off a sneaky goblin which was following them. The PCs also had to deal with a trap. They made their saving throws, but they still took damage. They did kill the two bugbears who were responsible. So, the six PCs reached the temple destination at Parnast. Lena the fighter (see the attached image – the artist is Daniel Dociu) was at 25% health and the cleric was at 15% health. The PCs were about to deliver the bad news that the statue was lost in the sandstorm. However, an excited priest from down the street started shouting. The wizard appears, asleep in his wagon. It is being pulled by a giant scarab beetle. The wizard wakes up, the statue is unloaded, the beetle is freed from the wagon, and the giant beetle heads back into the dessert. Quest complete! Gold pieces are collected. Give this fun adventure a try!

My group like with me using all the extra material. The difficult terrain in most areas was a good idea. However Mold Earth can make the sandstorm an easy button. And the handouts were good.

This is one of my favorite AL adventures ever - the pacing and how it change as the characters play it is awesome, with great surprises on the way! Ran it multiple times, always a blast. Great work here!

This is easily one of the easiest adventurers to throw new players into. It's also full of interesting tidbits to keep seasoned players coming back to it with new characters.

I really liked this module. The flavor is nice, there's some good sections for roleplay and creative thinking, and the combat is probably about as fine as it can be for tier 1.

The first combat encounter in this module isn't really tough combat and has enough NPCs were you can adjust damage on the fly if required.

The creative thinking part was fun. I maybe didn't do the best job of conveying what needed to be saved, but still enjoyed seeing the players try and think on their feet, and I think they enjoyed it too.

One of my players clerics, who had decent CON, got one-shot in the second combat encounter. I don't know if I can really blame the module for this though because Tier 1 combat is just bad, but I should probably still mention it.

Would definately run this one again.

This is one of the first AL modules I played and it was so much fun as a player that I decided to buy it so I could run it for others. It's a great intro to D&D and has a lot of unique elements that make it a memorable adventure. :)

My favorite go-to, run it at a moment's notice module for new players. A little of this, little of that, just enough of everything. It's great. Try it, you won't regret it!

Ran this twice, 1st for new players in person, 2nd for veterans online.

Both times went great. The module has very clear goals (reach Parnast!) so the party has a good idea of how they're progressing at any time. The loss of the drivers, camels, and potentially caravans are good indicators of how well they're doing overall too.

Adding some personality to the random merchants/drivers did a lot for both games- rolling on NPC generating tables and doing some light RP between them and the players made their deaths feel more tragic.

Only part that played awkward was the scene with the cloud giant castle- just make sure to clearly describe what physically surrounds them, so they can begin scheming how to handle it.

This is a fun one.
Some of the downsides - It's a huge file. 45 pages for a 2-hour adventure.
The handouts are nice, but it really complicates the logistics of running this.

Classic module. Pretty straightforward escort but with a fun skill challenge. The sequels are also enjoyable so it's good for a longer storyline.
