The map is 10 squares by 20 squares and is useable as a battlemat with your favorite counters or 25mm/30mm figurines. The map depicts a tiered structure that leads up into an enclosed area with a raised platform. The areas on this map are very open compared with other Heroic Maps, and that is good for variety. The dusty colors and details (heiroglyphics, carvings of Egyptian gods and symbols, miniature pyramid decorations, windblown sand) all give this map a great Egyptian desert feel.
As I mentioned in my review of the Egyptian Temple map, I used this map as the second level of an Egyptian-themed dungeon crawl (I know the large area on this map is supposed to be outdoors - sue me). Most of the characters were dumped into the large pillared area by a pit on the first level, and they were attacked by giant skeletons there. The room behind the door was the lair of a dragon sleeping on the raised platform.
There are several staircases leading down on this map, and they match up with the staircases in Pharaoh's Tomb - Lower, so you could use these two maps in conjunction with each other, or not, as you see fit.
Another great addition to the Heroic Maps line.
