Modern Furniture Tokens

This pack of art assets aims to provide Game Masters with a range of modern-themed furniture elements that can be used to flesh out a wide range of contemporary settings, such as a hero's home, a villain's hideout, or an evil corporation's office! Because the package contains assets as PNG image files, the images can be imported into graphics programs as art assets or imported into virtual tabletop roleplaying Apps as object tokens.

Virtual Tabletop Token or Art Asset?

Couch chair on a map grid squareWhen building adventure maps you will want to fill in your empty rooms with props and objects, this can be done during map building by importing art assets that depict objects such as chairs, cabinets, desks, and beds. This pack of Modern Furniture Tokens provides a range of objects (see below for a full list) as image files that can be imported for this purpose.

  • As tokens: Almost all virtual tabletop roleplaying Apps (such as FoundryVTT, Roll20, or D20Pro) permit using imported images as tokens to represent characters or moveable objects on adventure maps. Because the image files within this package are provided as PNG images, you should be able to import them into the virtual tabletop software of your choice for use as Tokens.
  • As Art Assets: If you create your adventure maps, you can use the image files provided in this pack as imported art assets in the graphics editing program you use. Almost all major graphics editing programs permit the use of imported graphics files.
  • Token Scale: Tokens artwork from Studio WyldFurr makes use of a 3:1 scale which is the same scale we use for our Map Tiles art assets. This scale matches three on-screen pixels to each real-world inch, giving us a map grid square of 180 pixels.
  • Compatibility: The files provided inside this token pack are provided as PNG image files. The PNG format is a widely accepted file format used by most virtual tabletop programs (such as FoundryVTT, Roll20, d20Pro, etc) and graphics editing programs (such as Photoshop, Gimp, Affinity Photo, etc). Check your application's documentation about importing images for use as tokens or art assets.
Tailz
“Hello there! I am Tailz from Studio WyldFurr and I want to say thank you for checking out this product. This pack aims to provide Game Masters with a basic set of props and objects that can be employed during map building, or as object tokens during a virtual tabletop adventure. Giving you the ability to fill an office with tables, chairs, and computers on desks. Or to put a comfy couch into a hero's home!”
~ Tailz from Studio WyldFurr.

Object Set

Each token set (also called a character set for character tokens) contains the object rendered from an offset top-down view with the object turned 45 degrees between each render. Some sets do not have each angle rendered because the object looks the same regardless of which side has been rendered. Character sets are rendered differently from object sets, being that the character is rendered in a variety of action poses, instead of being turned around between each rendering.

Sample: The Couch Chair

Isometric Tokens

Each token set depicts an object from a slightly offset top-down perspective - this is done to create the appearance of “depth and detail” for the object/character. To complement this, some sets include what we call an “isometric” token that was rendered from a top-down view, without any offset.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
