Agaricath: Drow City

A printable rpg battlemap compatible with any RPG/Dungeon-Crawl or skirmish game. Use as a standalone gameboard, or combine with any same-scale tileset. The map is 50x50, equivalent to 25 of our standard 10x10 tiles.

Contents: An underground Drow city, deep within a cavern. Houses and shops are carved from the rock, stairs wind their way between levels and the area is lit by fungi and mysterious glows. A magic academy with lecture rooms and casting chambers sits on one side of a chasm, spanned by a pair of bridges. Sitting astride a large open area is a temple to a Spider Queen or demon, with a summoning circle and the home of a sacred spider. The Dark Elves that live in Agaricath also have an arena for combat - prisoners are held in one area before being made to fight agains terrifying creatures.

Uses: Taken prisoner by a Dark Elf, your party have become gladiators and must fight a giant centipede in the arena, infiltrate the temple of the Drow spider queen and fight the Drider that lives there, visit a Drow sorcerer at the Wizards Academy and consult them on an unholy ritual.

Please make a Drow City geomorph set. This is a great looking set.

I agree. I'd like to see a drow cavern/caves/cave passages set, and a drow "town" set similar to your "Town - Streets & Houses" set. Both with the same style and coloring you used on this one.

I want to add my voice to this! I'm currently running the D&D5E campaign Out of the Abyss, and would love to use the individual dwellings/buildings in modular form to draw out the cities my players encounter, particularly Menzoberrazan... This map is too specific, and won't serve my purposes in this case.

We'll see if we can revisit the Underdark again in the year, and do some modular and geomorphic sets in the same colour palette.

Wow! While I might quibble and call this a village rather than a city, you guys have produced another terrific map. In little over a year your quality has begun the rival the best of the battlemap cartographers in the business. I'm glad you moved on from your early days excluding furnishings (a la Heroquest inspiration), as it's the details that are really captivating...

Absolutely perfect. Drow architecture has always been presented as something fantastic, and it's been a challenge as a DM to come up with maps as equally pleasant as the various ways different settings have portrayed them.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
